Overview

Lydd Airport is seeking a Finance Assistant to support company's financial operations by handling day-to-day tasks such as data entry, invoice processing, and bank reconciliations. They ensure accurate financial records are maintained, assist with producing financial reports, working under the supervision of the Finance Manager. We are looking for someone who will ultimately grow to a Management Accountant level as the team is growing.




Key Responsibilities:

· Data entry and management: Accurately inputting financial transactions into accounting systems and maintaining financial databases.

· Sales ledger: Importing daily invoices into sales ledger, raising ad-hoc sales invoices, sending out statements, recording receipts to the sales ledger, credit control and handling customer queries.

· Purchase ledger: Processing purchase invoices, obtaining suppliers statements, processing employee expenses, preparing payment runs, recording payments to the ledger and handling supplier queries.

· Petty cash management: Overseeing and reconciliation of petty cash.

· Reconciliation: Reconciling bank accounts, petty cash and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.

· Financial reporting: Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, monthly reports, and budgets.

· Compliance: Ensuring all financial activities comply with company policies and regulations.

· Administrative support: Providing general support to the finance team and other departments and assisting with tasks such as online order, ordering with trade suppliers, audit files and payroll (to back up Finance Manager).




Essentials:

· Can do approach, accuracy and attention to details

· Xero experience (minimum 3 years) – the business is moving to Xero from Sage from January 2026 therefore recent experience with Xero is a must

· Sage line 50 basic knowledge

· Sales Ledger/Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, Petty Cash, Reconciliation Knowledge

· Good awareness and excellent communicator

· Supportive of improvements in internal control, process and system

· Basic excel

· Able to work in open plan office environment and a very small team

· IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE TO START




Working Arrangements:

· This is a full-time, on-site role based at Lydd Airport.

· Some flexibility in hours or remote working may be discussed, depending on workload and trust.

· This is a sole role and there is no cover during annual leave and any other leaves.
