Lydd Airport has previously provided Duty Free Avgas to qualifying customers and Lydd claimed the duty as drawback from HMRC.
HMRC has recently contacted us to advise, our claims will be rejected from now on for reason below. This has come directly from HMRC.
“The person entitled to drawback of excise duty is the person who has used the fuel on an eligible flight.”
This will mean qualifying Person/Operators can still claim the duty back directly (not by the Airport on their behalf).

Therefore Lydd Airport can no longer supply Duty Free Avgas. We apologise for any inconvenience, but this is beyond our control.
